Research Projects in the Social Sciences

The social sciences are a group of scientific disciplines that study humans and society. These sciences examine activities, behaviors, thoughts, and intentions; lifestyles; and the evolution of human beings—both in the past and present—whether individually or in groups. The social sciences can be divided into those dedicated to the study of the evolution of societies (archaeology, history, demography), social interaction (economics, sociology, anthropology), or the cognitive system (psychology, linguistics). Research methods in the social sciences can be qualitative or quantitative.
