The meeting began with a scientific update. Several recent publications confirm our choice of high-dose oral Rifampicin, including oral versus IV. Regarding progress, 218 patients have been enrolled to date, 19 in the PK substudy. Very few visits are missing. Deaths occur mostly during the first 3 months. Each country presented its recruitment challenges. In South Africa, many patients are at grade 1 because no family can be found. The South Africa team has requested permission to enroll patients without consent. ANRS has requested a vote from the General Assembly. The protocol has been submitted to Trials.
