DengueCARE: PAC-CI/PRISME CI and its partners unite against dengue

Summary & Key Points

"The PAC-CI/PRISME CI Program and its partners are launching DengueCARE, a research project to better understand the impact of climate and the environment on dengue and strengthen prevention."

On April 16, the PAC-CI/PRISME CI Programme hosted the kickoff meeting for the DengueCARE project, a research initiative conducted in Côte d’Ivoire with the support of institutional, scientific, and technical partners committed to combating dengue.

Supported notably by the Medical Research Foundation, the project brings together PAC-CI/PRISME CI, the School of Geography and Environment at the University of Oxford, and others around a shared goal: to better understand the impact of climate and the environment on dengue in order to strengthen prevention and response.

Led by Dr. Ellene Dyer and Dr. Anani Badjé and coordinated by Dr. Yao Abo as project lead, DengueCARE aims to advance research, collaboration among stakeholders, and capacity to address this mosquito-borne disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes.

The meeting outlined the project’s objectives, working groups, and activity timeline within a framework of equitable partnership for public health.

The project launch was also covered in the April 17 issue of Fraternité Matin.

With DengueCARE, PAC-CI:PRISME CI continues its commitment to useful, collaborative research that addresses the realities of local populations.
