Mereva, a Franco-Ivorian team of engineers, administrative managers, and technicians, has been supporting European and African researchers in implementing biomedical research projects in 31 countries for the past 10 years. Mereva operates within the framework of the historic partnership between the GHiGS team, Inserm Bordeaux, and the PAC-CI Program in Abidjan and comprises four activity areas: Project Management, Statistics, Monitoring, and Information Technology.
The members of the Mereva Information Technology Division met for three days, from January 25 to 27, 2023, in Côte d’Ivoire, for their 5th Information Technology Seminar, to collectively assess the work and activities of the past year, the division’s service catalog, its communication and operational methods, its strengths, and its weaknesses.
The 2023 edition began with a roundtable discussion, “Protection of Personal Data – Regulations, Recommendations, and Implementation in Southern Countries,” which led to the creation of a working group tasked with addressing the lack of MRs suited to the Mereva contexts and jointly defining a “Southern” Reference Methodology by incorporating perspectives from all stakeholders, from participants to the Ivorian Regulatory Authority.
