Midterm Review of the PROXISANTE Project

On Friday, November 18, the midterm progress report meeting for the PROXISANTE project took place.The main objective of the PROXISANTE project is to develop and implement strategies aimed at improving the integration of HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis prevention and care into the community-level health system through Community Health Workers.

This meeting took place in the community hall of the Toumodi town hall in the presence of:

• A representative of the Prefect of the Bélier region,

• Representatives of the communities of Djékanou, Kokumbo, and Kpouèbo,

• The National Programs to Combat Malaria (PNLP), Tuberculosis (PNLT), and HIV/AIDS (PNLS),

• The Directorate of Community Health and Health Promotion (DSC-PS), and

• Community health workers (CHWs).

The purpose of this meeting was to present the midterm review of the PROXISANTE project.

Speakers took the podium one after another; a total of four presentations were given during the ceremony:

• The presentation on the PAC-CI PROGRAM by Dr. ABO,

• followed by the representative of the community health workers (ASC), Mr. KOUAKOU GERVAIS,

• followed by the Toumodi Departmental Director of Health, Dr. ADAHOURMAN AMAN PAUL

• and finally Ms. AMANE LILIANE from the NGO Espoir pour les Enfants (EPE), the PROXISANTE Coordinator.

These presentations were followed by a question-and-answer session. It should also be noted that the participants made a point of congratulating the CHWs for all their hard work. In closing, recommendations were made to ensure the continuity and smooth operation of the PROXISANTE project.
